Default Joussard at the moment

Hey all. Currently sitting in the shack at joussard. Haven't seen a fish on camera in a few hours. Wondering if anyone else is out and how you guys are doing?

We do a yearly fishing trip to slave every year for the last 4 years. Next year we are going to go through you. It's seems to be so hard to find anyone to book through. Like people have no interest to book their cabins. We went with southshore the first year. And haven't been able to get a hold of them every year since. Have gone with road runner cabins for the last 3 years and have nothing but good things to say about them but we would like to stay on the ice. To update the fiahing has been quite good in morning and evening just incredibly slow from 10ah to 7pm

Heading out thursday for 3 nights on the ice, hopefully the bite is ok to have a few fish fry's. Usually it's a pretty good trip just to chill in the shack.

Well there was 3 of us from night of the 18th and left the 21st. We caught 26 fish. 2 burbot and the rest a mix of walleye and pike. We were generally on the ice at 5 am and the latest we got off was 1am. So we put in some solid time for those 26 fish.

Fished Canyon Creek and couple other spots on the south shore. About 26" of ice mile or more from shore. Easy travel. Saw dozens of really nice whites on camera and a dozen or more Burbs. Wasn't fishing for them. Never saw a Walleye, landed 10lb5oz Jack. Couple hundred shacks along the way out there, even guys banging around in helicopters and float planes. Guys smoking whites right out on the ice. Good times but lots of racket lol!

I am actually mystified when I hear about guys fishing Cutbank all day and not catching a thing......................

How are you fishing??

My daughters and I went out last night to do a few things around the cabin, fished for a few hours, landed 6, missed another 5 strikes and took three really nice walleye home. And we weren't even giving it a huge effort!

My advice - CHANGE UP YOUR HOOKS! The fish are there, its figuring out what they are responding to. We will go through jig heads, spoons, rattlers, swedish pimples, teardrops, etc. and go from very aggressive jigging to light bumps - eventually we figure it out.

That, and fishing prime time. Fish 8:30 - 12:00 in the morning and 4:30 - after dark in the afternoon.

Just my thoughts, and this is for everywhere, not just Cutbank..........

Default We were at Jousard this weekend

Hi: The girlfriend and I went up Friday night and stayed with the cabins rented out of Larsen's General store. We fished Friday night, Saturday all day (8 AM to 11 PM) and Sunday until Noon. We caught 1 walleye, 1 burbot, 6 pike (all throw backs except one 32 inch fish).

The cabins were ok, the camping was fun, the fireworks from the neighboring cabins was really cool.

I guess we should have moved around more as we did not really get into the fishing we expected.

Anyone heading out or been out?

A few of us are heading out to Slave and just wondering how the ice is and what the bite has been like?
