First big game animal was a spike whitetail at 14.
My first animal was definitely some little bird out of my moms bird feeder when on my 7th birthday with my Daisy BB gun... Nothing like hunting over a bait! Lol

My first game animal was a pheasant taken with my 870 12 gauge on a trip with my Dad when I was 14. My first big game animal was a mulie doe shot with my Rem. 700 30-06 when I was about 16 on a trip with a friend's Dad. My first animal was a gopher when I was 10 or 11, likely with my uncle's pump .22, brand I long since have forgotten.

Blue wing teal with a .410 single when I was 14.
My dad was strict on not shooting things you were not going to eat or that were not pests, IE. Skunks. Not until I moved to AB did I enjoy shooting gophers and magpies. About 25 years late.

My first "big game" animal was last year at the age of 19 years. It was a whitetail buck, gross score of 166. Not the biggest, but being my first one I was quite pleased. Got him shoulder mounted.

Never let someone else determine the value of your trophies.
The memory of the hunt is most important.
I have saved the wing feathers from my dog's first goose. Not a trophy by anyone's standard but mine.
