I have fished a little for pike in the Yukon.
My biggest advice is to bring lots of bug repellent.
The mosquitoes and horse flies are ferocious and man eaters.
Don't leave your vehicle without already being sprayed.
It really is that bad.

I'm heading to YT/AK this summer for a few months of fishing/camping/living the life. I'll be sure to post a thread on my adventure when my trip is done. Stay tuned!

As for the fishing, I'm planning on some heavy grayling fishing and from what I've heard, they are abundant in the streams/rivers up there. Also gonna try to beat my 17lb PB pike record, maybe get into some lakers but we'll see how I'll do with just a pontoon boat. I'd recommend a fly rod for sure and some heavy equipment for the pike n big trout

Once you get past Fort St John pretty much every stream/river you see will have grayling/whitefish/bull trout and some rainbows in it. The further North you go the better it gets, If your fishing on the way up give yourself a couple extra days, wouldn't get serious till after Fort Nelson.
If you want some spots PM me and I'll check my pics/notes from when we went, about the only bad thing is you'll run out of time!

I believe a couple lakes are stocked Arctic char around Whitehorse, they have a little hatchery we toured west of town there.
