Never hear much for action from that lake. Too bad it is big and decently located.

I was out and had exactly the same experience, it seemed to have died off about 3 weeks ago.

Lakes like Chip - shallow water high weed growth will winter kill regularly.

Once the ice breaks new fish from the in flow and out flow may migrate back in there.

Unfortunately, this is pretty normal for Chip.

Did it get any better there at the end of the season? The last 2 times I was there nobody was even getting a bite. I would have been back but my girlfriend drug me to Jamaica the last 10 days of Jamaica. Hopefully someone caught something.

I have yet to see chip winterkill.... has a lot of water moving in and out of it....
That lake is kind of anomaly given how shallow it is.

Yeah, it has not winter killed for at least 26 years, that's now long I have fished it. I heard bad reports from a neighbour who was there late feb.

Default Chip Lake

Tip : fish the west end --- near the creek --- by Heron Island.
I lived close by for many years and never been skunked. I was "ratted" once -- all of a sudden that face was comming up the hole. Never knew I could move that fast.
