NSR at the FTR near Nordegg

I am heading out to do some canoeing on the NSR in a couple weeks. Will be camping near the FTR bridge and was wondering if there are many reasonable shore accessible or chest wader accessible areas. I don't have a fly rod, will be using a spinning rod, would anyone have suggestions for set up or what they have used in the past that has been successful?

Not looking for any deep family secrets, just want to be able to kill a few hours between paddles.
