Default SPS Actions

I haven't really played with a bunch of the SPS's and was wondering if there is any simplifications or cheaping out with the actions or are they a standard Rem 700 action?
I was planning on buying a short action and maybe in a few years having something built with this action. Bad idea??
Any thoughts?
I was thinking of the SPS SS in 7/08.

They are the same action, but aren't finished as nicely as say a BDL. I don't have any first hand experience with the SS model, but I have the "blued" model. The finish is more of a flat black coating on mine, but it is the same action as my older 700.

As in a sloppier feel or it doesn't look as pretty.

I've recently picked up a couple of them in LH. I've mounted a scope on one of them and this ones bridge to ring relationship was better than my last CDL and the ring holes are well centered. As an bonus, they've had no monkey mitted dufus polishing them creating rounds where it should be flat and flats where it should be round.

Yep, and 15 mins of polishing, then a fresh bead blast with finer media - you cant tell it was an SPS.

Just as good of action as a regular 700.
They are made from the same componets.
The only thing you will notice is the type of finish they put on them.

All of the SPS actions I have converted have been as good or better then the older Remington actions I have handled. Worst warpage was on older remington actions.
