Hunting clothes requirements??
While I have been in Alberta for 6 years now I am going to be hunting here for the first time if all my plans work out. I am just curious about requirements for clothing during the fall rifle season.
When I lived in SK we were required to wear blaze orange or red as headwear and white, orange, red, (maybe a couple other colors) for the rifle season. Camo was allowed for archery and muzzle loader seasons.
I can't find any requirements in the current Hunting Regulations Guide but maybe I am missing it. I asked a friend and he said there was no requirement so I am hoping this is true.
It would be nice to be able to use my coyote hunting camo rather than buy more gear, (I am going broke already getting gear for this falls hunt).

head to toe camo.............gilli suits...............jeans and a t-shirt.........you can wear anything you want. I usually wear an orange hat/cap to be visible to other hunters.

Hi vis vs. good binos
Some provinces would like you to be a good high visable target, in Alberta you are not required to wear blaze orange during the rifle season so its entirely up to you. But I will recomend you wear some good binos instead, that being said there is no worse feeling then standing beside a tree in full camo and looking over your shoulder only to see a high power rifle pointed at you because other hunters refuse to wear binos.

Common decency dictates that you should wear clothing. Even while hunting!

I wouldn't hunt anywhere near Calgary without head-to-toe blaze orange...

I wear an upland vest with quite a bit of orange on it, but when I am hunting big game, I wear whatever - mostly Carrharts , it seems!
However, I always have an orhange toque i can dig out of my fanny pack and stick on top in case I have to drag something out or see others in the are.
I also have two orange vests, one for me and one on the critter I'm dragging.
I generally hunt where there is nobody else however, the spots are
" jet boat access only", so I don't have to worry to much.

Thanks guys!!
That is great news, saves me from buying more gear over the next couple months.
I do agree with what some have said and will probably get a cheap vest to wear when getting to camp and hauling out game.

I carry one of those traffic vests in my pocket and put it on when I need to. They fold up real small too.

X2 to that ^ !
They are a perfect, light weight, inexpensive solution. I keep two in my pack ... one for me and one for the game I'm dragging.
