Default Youth, fitness, team work and hard work!

They are fun to watch! That Smelenko kid hit the post in the shoot out or the one point would be two.

These guys work cheap, and hard for their money.

If it is not impolite why isn't Edmonton doing much better?

Any suggestions for their new sign? "Keep Going",

Wow, how 'bout those Flames?? A really bad start, Getzlaf gets two really early, and they just go about the business of spanking the Big Bad Ducks. 6-3, hard to argue with that. Dang, this team just gets it done!'

Oh, and this is a good place for a Holy Mother of Pearl!! I don't know if I've ever had a thread go over 10K views!! Got to love those Flames!

Default Flames

They believe in their coach, they believe in their system, and they believe in each other.they are one of the hardest working teams in the NHL. If they make the playoffs, how much, will be left in the tanks?come summer, who do you try to get them for help, without ruining the chemistry, they have going now.
This has been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the entire NHL this year. Keep it up boys, the fans , and the city, are very proud of you.

Aprx 15 games left. Just hope Nucks and Kings beat up on each other in their remaining head to head games.
Actually hope one team sweeps the other, too many 3 pt games between them will hurt the Flames.
Flames have tie breaker over Kings with 4-5 more wins but just 2 more wins for Kings more than Flames in final 15 games and Flames will come 9th.
Shame if that happens with these sister points for OT / shoot out losses but WTH.
Nucks and Flames with same record or tie breakers, too close to call.
Will be a good next month of hockey for sure.

We also have a easier schedule coming up.

10 of 15 games against non playoff teams (Flames)

6 of 16 games against non playoff teams (Kings) But they can make some big moves up the ladder by playing Vancouver 3 times in that stretch.

Another convincing win against T.O. Tonight. Gaudreau seems to be gaining confidence again and Monahan is a machine lately. Fun game to watch.

Fear the Flames, winning can be a habit.
12 goals in 2 games, that used to be a months worth, ha.

Was good to get the two points and they all played really good, but context is everything. After all , it was only the Leafs....

Thumbs up an't over yet

hard to win on the road ,,,official's called that game ,,,o and ramo went brain dead on a couple..it put the boy's behind for the rest of the game,..and Monahan needs to use that big body on the forecheck,,he's a little to soft on the finish me thinks,,he's got great hands,,but soft on the hit.

Nail bitter tonight the Av's have been playing really well....Flames snuck 2 points out of this one thanks to Ramo. Nice that the Flames control there own destiny, it can't be a lot of fun chasing like LA has been doing for awhile now Go Rangers, Islanders, Blackhawks!!!

It will take 97 or 98 points to get a playoff spot the way things are going.
It will likely be a record of most points for the 9th place team.

I usually cheer against Calgary, but I'm hoping they get in because of this:

my two great nephews' father passed away (they are 14 and 12) earlier this year. He was a Flames fan and somehow the Flames found out about it (may have been my niece advised, don't know for sure) and did some very nice things for them (they were scheduled to go to a game with their dad but he passed prior to the game) at the game. I wont go into all the details, but it was touching to say the least. Upon hearing what they did for these two boys, it's pretty hard for me not to pull for them to get into the playoffs.

Great story, I really like to hear how teams and athletes can do something special for others like that. Really sorry to hear of the boys' loss, at that age. I had my dad for 48 years, and just laid him to rest on Sunday, and that was plenty difficult enough to do. My sympathies to the boys and your family.

They got Nashville's backup & made hay. Credit to their work, 9 different players on the scoresheet. Playoffs still grim slim chance but ya gotta love 'em!

Now, what if I said we'll have a good shot of Whisky to celebrate them making the playoffs....then would you be moved to cheer a bit? Just a little?

Just need 3 wins in final 5, or just 2 more wins than the Kings.
Could even grab wild card if Kings nearly win out, and if Jets go in the crapper.

It played out almost perfect tonight, the Hawks douse the Queens, errr, Kings, Flames hang on for the win in Dallas.....now if the Canucks had gotten their butts kicked, it would have been perfect. Flames were up and down tonight, the Hudler/Gaudreau/Monohan thing is sure working though. They looked a bit tired at times, maybe the Preds game took a toll last night. Anyway, a big 3 point spread on the Kings now, got to keep the hammer down.

I'm going to suspect that the Ritchie elbow on Monohan gets reviewed too....it should be anyway. Very intentional, glad he didn't get injured.

And Kanon? I will buy you a nice blended whisky, how's Ballantine's work for you?
