Was two weeks ago for you in your area. Still many weeks away in different locations in BC. We went to Kamloops last year, and fished our way back to Alberta and back home after that. This year we are heading to Cranbrook, and we will fish the bow and other year round rivers due to the fact that IF4 in Cranbrook is March 7th.

But I do believe that you are talking about the fly fishing expo, which I think is BS that it centered only in Calgary only. IF4 http://flyfilmfest.com/IF4/about-if4/ is the film festival and it started Feb 6th. And for once there is no Calgary (center of the universe) date.

All good man. I was just kidding about the center of the universe stuff. If you can make any of the dates I suggest doing it. Last year was unreal.

Last year I purchased "only the river knows" - its the ralf nylinder/lars lenth story.
Online I bought "cast alaska II- she band", thats a alaska she fish movie that's not here yet they are still working on it.
And when "a deliberate life" finally gets released i will be getting that.

Alot of these film makers are very busy and take their time getting stuff done. But im willing to wait for the quality of footage they have. It gets me through the winter.

I've been gearing up over this winter To get back into fly fishing, I have not done it since I was about 15 so it's been 15 years, and never done it in Alberta, I'm sure after march 9 as much as I enjoy ice fishing I'm going to be a little anxious to get out and try to find some trout and see if I can still cast a fly... I know the previews for it look very good.

OOOOH....I purchased 3 tickets, got a email -below- that the date changed to March 6. Now I see its not on the schedule.

Hi All,

We have had a date change on the IF4 screening in Red Deer. The new date for the screening will be March 6th. Your existing tickets will be valid. Please let me know if this date changes causes any conflict.

I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Take care,

Now I don't know what to think....
Anyone else get tickets to red deer showing?
I'm going to get some answers and keep you posted.
Thanks for the heads up.

Not sure how popular it is here so buying at the door is an option if there are seats left, 18 at the door I think I read. Or go to the ticket river link posted and check it out, my wife got ours from that site.

The Fly Fishing Expo IMO sucked this year so don't worry man, you didn't miss anything. Im getting older and seems as though most/a lot of the people involved are really young these days. There were multiple booths where the kid with his straight brimmed hat cranked sideways wouldn't even look up at me. IMO thats bad for business and fly fishing, its a small community. Theres two stores I wont even walk back into after this years show. All that said, your right who says it should be in Calgary. Here I always thought Toronto was the center of the universe
