Hoping Oilers can take a couple points tonight against the basement dwellering Hawks tonight.
Sitting four points below LA in the standings. Just so happens LA has four loser (bettman) points. Oilers one of 5 teams to have none

Yes the boy's really need a 6 or 7 game winning steak, this hovering around 500 hockey and the wild card spot is not good.

Stupid TSN
Was out and taped it… but they didn’t start showing the game until just after the first goal.
Oilers goals have been goodies. Conner the beast destroyed the defender for goal 3.
Horrible defensive play gave Chicago their first.
Playing a crappy team can be a hard game. Don’t get pumped up. They do. Lack lustre effort can bite you.
So far not a bad effort by Oil.

Lol. Nurse did a great screen for the Chicago second goal.
Third goal another bad defensive play by the Oilers.
Crazy.
Smarten up guys. This is ridiculous. Hang in there.

Yes a lot closer than it should have been but we'll take the 2 points, outshot them 41 - 25 hit 6 or 7 posts could have been 10 - 4, a bit sloppy in the 3rd and it almost cost them, oh well we'll head for Minnesota and try to scrape out 2 more points.

Last Chicago goal was a defensive mess up.
It was an ugly win but it still counts.

Well we finally saw an eye roll by Woody on 1 of Campbells 5 goals. Don't think there is much confidence when he is between the pipes. 82.8 SV %.
Kulak and Ceci should be our 3rd pairing. Go get Luke Schenn and Connor Murphy, then we might have a d core worth taking a run at the cup
Nurse Schenn
Bouchard Murphy
Ceci Kulak
Schenn also gives the Oilers the true heavy weight they are missing

Oilers D was once again horrible and we didn’t get enough goals to survive.

That is all you really seem to focus on, is how bad the defense was.
How was the Montreal defense tonight where Allen had to make 45 saves and steal the game?
Do you think the Oiler's so called starting goalie might do that at least once in the 1st quarter of the season?

Allen stood on his head. Skinner was good but not that good.
Unfortunately. Markstrom was good but the Flames d was good also.
You believe the Oilers D played well tonight? Last game?
We need to improve steadily to get to a championship Stanley Cup for the Oilers.
Right now. It’s isn’t happening and living with beer bottle glasses is not how I roll.

Montreal defense played Horrible, Oilers defense played like crap, Montreal Goalie played amazing, Oilers starting Goalie played like crap. Being a fan of a team doesn't mean you have to be blind to reality.

You can't and simply won't survive in this league if you have to score 5 or 6 goals a night to win, you need some team defense and goaltending ... the oilers had neither last night
The flames had the team defense and the goal tending but couldn't score on Allan last night ......
Say what you will about the games boy's but the bottom line is both teams lost ..........

See post # 614.
There is no rose colored glasses here. I have been calling for an upgrade on defensive D man for a long time now (Schenn, Murphy, Soucy) I rather they help the team now as oppose to waiting on prospects development.
And Campbell has been awful.
Every team has defensive lazy games, but if your starting goaltender can't do what Allen did last night, 6-8 times a season, then you just left 16 points on the table and probably will miss the playoffs because of it. In 24 games, Campbell has not done it once.
Right now I would waive Campbell and run Skinner and Pickard

Ahhh, you're thinking about this all wrong. You should be thinking "Campbell's our No. 1, we'll only go as far as he'll take us, we're starting him every game the next 3 weeks so he can find his game".

I think that's what Sutter tried with Markstrom during the 7 game loosing streak, not sure that's a recipe for success ..... just saying

That’s all you took away was a typo?
So you felt Oilers D is doing just great?

I'd also add fire the goalie coach already. This team hasn't had a decent goalie or goalie coach for 10-12 years.
