I went for a little walk this afternoon and managed to find this one (63"). I sure feel sorry for the deer, it is brutal walking out there. The snow was up to my knees for the most part and sometimes even higher with a frozen crust on top.

X2

It's at least a knee deep struggle to get around where I am. The deer must be hurting.

Nice shed!

Default Sheds

Checked a spot out yesterday afternoon at 4pm and when I got there I could see deer everywhere started counting and quit at 80 , they were mainly on 1 quarter , glassed and seen a few small bucks still with horns the rest had dropped already. While classing spotted a horn sticking out of the snow on the trail the deer were using , 100 yards off road , it was a small 4 .Continued down the road a found a smaller 4 right in the ditch where they been jumping the fence .Two sheds in 5 min, going back today!

Default Some pics

Got out this weekend a bit to try to match up the droptine. No luck yet on finding the match but I did find the matched set of the other buck I posted pics of. They were laying on top of each other 1/2 mile from my place. Also managed to find another nice matched set. The first couple of pics are of the droptine which scores about 81. The next 2 are of the 5x4 I posted pics of. Left side goes 75 and the right goes 71. The next three are of the othed matched set. Left goes 70, right is 64. Next 2 pics are of a buck I've found the left side off, it goes about 64 also. The last pic is of some of the other sheds I've found so far. Top left is 64, bottom left is 66, top right is 60 while the bottom right goes about 65.

Finally found something worth posting. So far this year the count is 7 but yesterday was a good day. Picked up this big guy, he goes 82 1/4 with a 7 1/8 base. Also there is a cool non typ there 4 1/2 base but looks like a big spike. Great sheds everyone love looking at them. My buddy picked up 5 so far and has a couple good ones as well including a 4 that goes around 65-70 inches and a 5 with a 25 1/2 main beam but not much for points. Will post a pick later of those.

Just putting this out as a concerned reminder to fellow shedhunters.

With the extreme stress that many of our deer herds are under this winter, limit your shedhunting to avoid disrupting bedding areas or pushing them out of feeding areas. The additional stress of dealing with human encounters can be the tipping point between their survival or death.

I know what you mean. In the County of Beaver there is not as many deer. I friend of mine said that on his hay field 10 years ago, you would see 50 to 60 deer eating during the winter. Last week I glassed the field and only seen one deer.
