I tried again this afternoon... thought i seen a pair for sure poking through the snow with the binos from a elevated position ... the 300 meter walk through the snow resulted in epic fail. heh. Just a dead small tree branch

I got today for a bit. The snow is still very deep and i followed some good trails. The Best news is i got permission in a whole bunch of extra River valley property and the Farmer welcomed me with open arms because he has lost to many tires on his tractor due to too many deer around his bales..

OK these are from 3 weeks ago ,since i have not been out for awhile and the Snow is still Very Deep , but a pic is pic , right ?

Heres a fella that likes to get to the antler before we do for a chewy snack.

Then off course is the business end.......

It was a slow & Foggy morning but mid-day we each found one

Aarons was an ancient Moss covered 4 point whitey . It was beside a Spring and froze deep in the ground. A little leatherman work and he freed it. We were standing talking and he says look a Shed !!

I guess something i learned to bring along was a big wood chisel & my leatherman in case you encounter some frozen ones like Sean did earlier..The idea of salt was also a great idea in case you find one frozen in the water..I guess you could always GPS it.

Heres the final product...will look cool on a habitat base.

Decided to go today. Bad idea. Snow was up to my knees in most places, up to my crotch in others. An hour of trudging through that finding nothing I said screw this. Since I know I will be the only one shed hunting in this field I'll just leave it for a while and let the snow melt.

One thing I discovered while out slogging through the field is the sound of the snow setting. Sounds like a gun shot going off. Scared the crap out of me everytime I heard it.

Went out for a few hours looking for sheds. The snow was any where's from ankle to waist deep. I did manage to find these two sets. The one set I found them feet apart.
