Outboard Motor Parts
Any recommendations for on-line parts ordering? I've got a 1996 Evinrude 20hp that I'd like to change the bottom seals and water pump in. Thanks!

I have 2 older Evinrudes and used to get my parts from the shopevinrude place in NS and were pretty good but didn't always have the parts in stock and had to week a few weeks or more a few times and ticked me off. The last few years I have been getting all my parts from marineengine.com. They seem to always have the parts in stock, ship right away and prices are always the same or less than buying in Canada even with shipping etc. They have several warehouses but for us they ship from just outside of Seattle so pretty quick delivery. I find if I order on a Sunday or early Monday the parts are delivered here by Thursday or Friday latest. Kind of nice if an issue on a weekend fishing and I can get my parts and install them for the next weekend and not cost a fortune.

I've had good results ordering from Amazon, we don't have any local suppliers.
On another note, I have a 20hp parts outboard. If you need any parts that don't need to be brand new, I may have them.
I believe mine is an older vintage but they didn't change a lot over the years.
I think this one is mid to late 70s.

I use Lordship Marine out of Vancouver, they ship to anywhere.
B&L Marine in Calgary has also brought in parts for older stuff for me.
When you do the water pump, I suggest you do both impeller and case.

Mainly being instead of just saying they can't source the part the ignore button gets hit.
Ended up going through Riverside on that one and super happy.
With that said it's always worth trying a call to a local dealer. Sometimes the prices are ridiculous and a guy ends up going online but sometimes you are pleasantly surprised at the service.

I’ve also had good parts service from Barry Jay’s Marine in Edmonton for my Mariner. Parts that they did not have in stock, were ordered weekly and promptly shipped out to me. My outboards are 30 to 40 years old. I like old stuff that I can fix myself.

Recreational power sports is where I get parts for Evinrude Johnson outboards. Also Napa believe it or not. I used to buy coils for the old vintage outboards from them.

Can't beat Recreational Power Sports in Edmonton for oem parts. They have been able to get parts for my Johnson/Evinrude motors from as far back as 1948
