Default Newell / Badger

How is fishing from shore at Newell or Badger. Looking to take my nephew out this weekend and he has never caught a pike. Any help would be appreciated. Pm if you dont feel like sharing publicly. Totally catch and release.

Newell can be okay. Try fishing where the Newell res dumps into the Rolling Hills res. Badger is more miss than hit but there's some big fish in there.

You can also try Pine Coulee. We had two massive pike try to steal our walleye on Monday. Different fish too. One fat and one long and skinny. Probably male and female.

I was at Badger a week ago on the Southside rocks and not a bite..Wind, rain and a storm blew through while I was there....Oh yeah...The fish bugs were terrible. I brought home quite a few in my van..LOL

It was great that I didn't waste my time bringing the boat

Keep in mind that this was my first time out during open water...But ice fish at least once per season as well.

Great thanks everyone. We tried pine coulee a few weeks back and not a pike to be found. Think we will head out early and do a little tour.

have you tried clear lake before? fish right off the point at the parking lot about 30 to 35 feet out. decent size pikes and fun to catch. sometimes see them chase the lures right back to the rocks. 5 diamond or the storm lures baby pike. you cant keep anything under
100 cm but I wouldn't kill one that big personally.
