Default 2 days of good fishing

Headed down to a nearby river yesterday... managed a few small bulls before a big red beast came up out of the hole after my spoon. Quickly released as it appeared to have "unfinished business" to be done in the very near future.

Decided to try my luck at shore fishing the lake today.... Weather was bad but i still stayed till dark and managed to get my limit on kokanee. The most greedy lil Kokanee ive come across.. most were caught on a small mepps spinner but i got 2 that took the monster 5 o diamonds and were keepers due to face mangling. Landed(released) 4 bulls ela 5 o diamonds and raw chicken. Had a beast right on shore but he bolted while i was trying to hold the line, hang on to the rocks and take a pic... snap and gone

All and all some good fishing right now. Put out a set line in hopes of a tasty burb waiting for me in the morning. Gotta love this side of the divide!

Only the one pic of the small fish that ate the big 5 o diamonds is a Kokanee... The rest are bull trout and a coho. The kokanee here are small but Plentiful and rarely go over a pound.

I agree, thought that one was a rainbow - small yellow fin. I would be surprised as all hell to see a kokanee that size with parr marks....not to mention the heavy spotting on top.

Could very well be a baby rainbow. The lake is stocked with the gerrard rainbows that rarely reach the monster size of the ones further down the watershed. Would explain why those couple were so fiesty! Im going to have to start paying closer attention thanks
