Default Cold lake access at English bay campground

Does anyone here know if it is possible to access the ice at English bay campground on cold lake? Several websites state that the campground is closed but we were able to get on there last year! Thanks in advance.

Campground is closed. Huge Ice heavy all along NE shore. Over 8ft in spots. Much more productive spots to fish on Cold Lake anyway.

There is as much as two feet I've found and little less out in front of marina. Lots of ice and getting thicker by the sounds of it. You can drive on at PP no problem and see where everyone is fishing. You can also get on at the marina no problem if you have a truck. Although that bump getting off the ramp onto the ice looks like it would be sporty for a car! No real snow on the ice to speak of so pretty much fair game where you want to drive. There are some heaves in places and also I've noticed some cracks have formed since the last warm cycle. Just be careful out there and good luck
