Default scope AND iron sights

does anyone know where I can find a scope or scope mount with open sights built in for a decent price? this will be for my Browning SA-22 which has a front sight but only a weaver rail for a back sight (bought it that way, don't have the factory rear sight)

also, where can I just get the rear sight for my gun? I'm also considering that option.

I believe that your gun features a 3/8" receiver dovetail. There are a few manufacturers that make suitable rear irons, Skinner, Williams just to name a couple. The issue is also mounting a scope. An alternative would be Weaver's see thru mounts, but they are ugly as sin. Also, you may be restricted in terms of dovetail length. I'm thinking that you may have to decide on irons or optics and go with one but not both.

I have a scope on it right now, I know that some tactical scopes exist with built in iron sights or red dot, but are also "ugly as sin" and not cheap either.

Did a little research, I think I may just try to find rear irons for it and remove the scope. I just bought a 17HMR which I'll put a scope on, and I'd like to have one nice rimfire with just irons.

can I order the rear irons from the states? I found a website that sells the original (or at least a copy of the original)

The ceiling on importing gun parts from the US is $500.00, you should be good to go. Just check with the supplier as a precaution though.

These SA Brownings are made with the receivers tapped and plugged, but look somewhat hideous with a scope mounted. If you can find a back sight for it,that would be the route to take.

Default Importing sites

I just had Lyman ship up five rear sites for me with no problems. I phoned and asked if they could ship to Canada legally and was told yes they do it all the time.

thanks so much for the info guys!

IMO she's not the prettiest gun, scope mounted or not. But it's a well built, sweet little 22.

then I can put the scope on my new Savage 93R17
