Default Cork history and uses

Folks,

Cork is a wonderful material for all kind of uses. Fishing rod handles benefits from cork’s structures.

Have a read:

Don Very interesting read, never stopped to think of the source or history, of a material that has found multiple uses. I took for granted the feel of my rod in cold, heat, wet or dry....Hmmm

On every new, cork handled fly rod I've owned, it is with deep regret that I've pierced it's pristine finish to temporarily stow the first hook. After that, however, it's truly 'broken in' and I have no regrets!
