My Taber corn is ready. The taste test was delicious. The old meat slicer works well for removing the kernels. So in the freezer it went.

Potatoes and Corn doing very well this year, I am 6'1", and you can see some of the corn is taller than me, first year the corn has grown this well.

Some cucumbers I have under my patio ,really didn't know what was going to happen .
Just sprayed them with a fungicide,pretty much all male flowers .l have 3 growing so far.

Well just about finished for the year. Yellow beans are done did them in containers worked ok. They make good dog treats. Red cabbage is about soft ball size now, plastered with hail about a month ago
Fingerling potatoes in 5 gallon pails worked out ok. Opened one up just to see. Lots of them but a lot of small ones. A little too early maybe
Sweet corn first time for me. In a 5 gallon pail. Looks like I may get 3 cobs lol.
Beats we are eating daily. Boy those are sure good fried up in butter. Kohlrabi finishing up and tastes great cold. Tomatoes doing great ,first time for me getting ripe ones on the vine

Zucchini and cucumbers have been all eaten up. Had a bad case of powdery mildew even with spraying a fungicide. Learned a lot for a my first time gardening.only have grown cherry tomatoes before.
Will work on fall garlic and onions for next year.

I did sweet potatoes in a container in the green house this year. I was surprised they actually grew. I got 5 decent sized ones that just finished curing and about 20 that were a half inch round and about 8 inches long. I cooked the little ones right awaywith some olive oil, fresh garden onions and garlic. Man they were delicious!

Anyone want some super hots? I grew a bunch of Komodo dragon peppers and am going to have a few left over. Feel free to try! Right below the reaper for heat.

Has anyone ever heard of spaghetti squash and zucchini cross pollinating?

My Daughter saved some seeds from a spaghetti squash last Fall and planted them in a row beside her zucchini. She ended up with a couple of.....Franken Veg? She's never grown whatever they are before.

The first picture is the yellow squash and the second picture is I don't know what.

I did that 2 or 3 years ago, they all intertwined and came out with some weird crossbreeds, I couldnt eat them so they all got tossed. this year I kept them further apart and they all turned out good.

I think I have a bit of carrot weevil. Not really bad though. May try them next year.

Potatoes are dying back now. Should I dig up or still wait till the first freeze? Picked one.

I have enough veggies stalked up to last until spring. I’m glad I gave it a go this year. It was rather therapeutic and gave me something to do. Fresh peas are the best!

Right! Amazing year for peas! My cucumbers turned out great too! Not as good as my buddy Gene’s but they are still good!

My cucumber seeds sucked. I chopped the three I had and put them in water, vinegar and salt. Yum.

The gaint pumpkins loved the summer heat. I have to build a tent for it today. They don't like the cold. This thing grew 1ft. in a week.Ice cream bucket for comparison.Just over 6ft around and over 100lbs.

That is one big kohlrabi!! Did it get full sun? I have some in pots there out growing the ones in the ground.

I would say 80% full sun. Some morning and evening shading. Surrounded by potatoes and carrots. I planted them spaced like the package said. I have one approaching 8 lbs.

1 plant produced 3 pumpkins. 2 other ones are half the size. I have the plant cut back to a 10ft square patch. It would take over your yard, if you let it. I had a 45 gallon drum of fertilizer drip into all summer. It gets water once a day threw a drip system. Twice a day, them few hot days.

Time to think about fall garlic. As far as I understand I can just plant what I buy at the grocery store.Need to amend my soil also. My oldest area has some real crappy dirt.
