Just wondering if anyone has been west of caroline lately. Just wondering if ice is off the lakes.

Haven't been out there yet but I doubt that it is off the mountain lakes yet. More likely mid to late May.

Lakes are still locked up tighter than the interest rates on a 5 year mortgage. I know of a person or 2 that were still on the ice last weekend at Beaver.

Really the ice is still on at beaver? Changes my sunday plans. I remember it being fishable by boat middle of april.

Yes, it really has not been that warm and that sunny in and around the west country the last couple weeks. We got a huge dump of snow last weekend and it was going down to minus 10 for a few nights. I was on the Coal camp road on Wed and the Red Deer still has lots of ice on the flat water although the faster portions have opened up. People fishing the Clearwater.... a little dirty but fishable... not sure if people are catching anything.

Nope. although there is open water please don't chance the ice.
