I bought the OUTCAST Discovery, I have a 40 lbs minn kota and anchor rope. I thought about adding a swivel for the seat to better reach the trolling motor... but i will wait to see how the maiden voyage goes. I noticed the inconvience of the oar positions when not in use, I will look in to the $ store fix.
I have a Hummingbird 140c tube style fish finder and saw those " buddy straps" to strap it in. Worth while investment as it is great for ice fishing.
Great stuff to start with, thanks

I mounted a sonar on a Ram system, Scotty anchor lock on the back and a couple of rod holders. Also put a swivel base on the seat.

lets see where to start, PAC800 outcast, upgraded seat to low back style you find on regular boats, seat swivel, humminbird dsi mounted on ram mount, the sonar i mounted underneath the seat so you can bring it up out of the water with ease and it up out of the way when not in use or in travel. scotty fly rod holder with a 90 degree attatchment, and with attatchments on both sides on the frame. minn kota 30lb thrust motor with weed stopper blade, rigged up a home made steering rod to the motor with a on off switch so you never need to reach back accept to shift gears, works sublime for trolling backwards and it looks so freakin awesome people ask me where i bought it from and its el cheapo to make. made a aluminum battery holder which goes right behind the seat leaving the back deck open for gear storage. and the last thing is a 12lb river anchor attatched to 50 feet of rope which is stored by wrapping it around two cleats that are attatched to the back deck. can take pics if you want to see.

Trick out pontoon
Awesome thread. I'd love to see the pics of the homemade steering wheel. You should get a patent. What type of battery are you guys using? Do I really need a car battery for a couple hours worth of power.

you can choise either 6v or 12v, advantages of 12v is that it will last longer and should push the toon around all day. I have heard of people getting wheel chair batteries, i haven't been there but check out " battery world," there are 3 locations in Edmonton. but definitly get a marine battery...
