Default military helo circling edm.

do any of you AO members that are in the forces know why a military helicopter is circling around n.e edm. at a low altitude? has made 4 passes already at around 11:00 am and it has it's side doors open. kind of neat to see and i got it on video, but between them and the birds it's a very noisy day in the hood.

The urban legend of CFB Edmonton from years ago......Base Operations Officer received a phone call from a civilian with the same question as the OP;

Ops Officer: Does it have a red star painted on the side of the aircraft?

Civilian: No.

Ops Officer: Then what's the 'effin problem! (followed by sound of phone being slammed)

Legend is that it is a true story! Lol!

Awesome is what that is!

I love those Choppers they have, fantastic aircraft and always a pleasure to see. As an aside I must say I really wished the new fighting airplanes deal went through better, I was looking forward to them.

Seeing our fine Military out and about never fails to bring a smile to my face.

To our Military Members here on Alberta Outdoorsmen Forum -

Thank you for your service!

Probably just some pilots and crew getting in a few hours of flight time.
Lots of reasons to do that at lower elevations.

Last I heard from a very reliable source was that Edmonton will be shut down. Due to it being a nuisance to the rest of AB due to the smell and mercury levels of the NSR. This shanty town will be relocated to Winnipeg where they will fit in as new citizens of Manitoba.

Kind Regards, Dodger.

Was there some dude pointing a C8(?) at you from the side door?

And a meat hook hanging off a rope beneath the aircraft?

If so, they are practicing for early season elk and grizzly.

Default to our military and our police

thanks to our military guys and gals for their service and also to our police especially rank and file RCMP as these folks have the worst leaders yet the ordinary members are usually great people. I know if I needed help I would be glad to hear a guy from depot was on the way to help me.

The military likes to show off a bit. Doing all the cool stuff they get to do gets a little dull without an audience.
