Default Favorite Tree for a stand

I have set up 2 new tree stands in the last 2 days. One in a poplar tree, the other in a spruce tree. Both have pros and cons. What's your favorite?

I prefer spruce trees because when the leaves fall , they still provide good cover even though my arms are killing me after sawing a bunch of branches to set them up and get some good clean shooting lanes.

X2 on the spruce. I've put them up on both trees and I find it much easier to get them up in a poplar but once you have a good spot in a spruce you have much more cover I find. It rained on me last year and I didn't get wet at all in the spruce due to the spruce bows acted like a natural umbrella!

Spruce trees are great for the cover they provide .. yes they will shelter you from rain and the elements on the dat of thge rain ,but they shower you with water all the next day while they drip dry.. also have to contend with the sticky sap.. poplars are good because you usually don't have much trimming to do and can quite often use a climber. Don't really care which one I sit in as long as I see game..

I prefer pine trees, less branches to deal with when setting up and my dark camo conceals well when sitting in it.

Ya I like the coverage of the spruce but cuting all the branches suck. Its not so bad with a ladder stand ,you just have to cut up were the seat is.

For the same reasons above I like a spruce or pine but...
I remember watching a hunting video, I think it was Gene or Barry Wentzel???

He was scouting a river crossing that tracks showed was getting a lot of use.
He looked around at the crossing and the layout and talked about the wind direction. Then he pointed at a tree and said "I'm going to shoot a buck out of that tree." And he did.

If possible I will choose the tree I'd prefer to have a stand in. But sometimes the very best tree, location wise, is the tree I go into, even if it is not the type of tree I prefer.
