Pretty!

I haven't been out there this year yet. I have no draws in there this year, and I'm not sure if I will at all... I often go out for birds, but one of my favorite hunting buddies (my FIL) is declining in health and can't do the long walks anymore.

What kind of game are you looking for? Keep us posted on how it works out...

I am headed out for opening day. I have antlered elk and hopefully a good spot. Good luck to everyone headed in.

Good luck out there. Ive been bird hunting out there and almost every time Ive been out I have run into some FN hunters exercising their rights to hunt all year. There definitely seems to be some extra pressure on the big game early this year. Also the grouse numbers have been the lowest I have ever seen.

I spend probably 15 days a year, maybe more, and in all 4 seasons in 936 for the last 5 years and have never seen hunters outside of the regular hunting seasons. I don't use the Central staging area. Maybe that's why.

Was in there for 5 hours today.
Didn’t see a single person, saw 2 grouse and a nice bull moose.

Congratulations It can be a job to get an elk in 936 and a long haul to get it out. Nicely done.

I was out 3 days last week and saw 4 bucks, but nothing bigger than a 3x3. I had hunted this area back in the 70's and pulled out some nicer 4x4s. We rarely saw moose back then and never any elk. Some trade offs.
