I'm trying. Hopefully this year.
Gonna try a few new lakes this year and maybe it will pay off. A little over 16" would be close to the Alberta record.

Hey, this was supposed to my goal of the year...would've been nice to do that so I could scratch perch off my list and move to the next! That being said I still haven't tried out your suggestions, so I have some miles to put on. Maybe for giving me a couple lakes to try that gave you good karma and helped you catch these beauties...just think what could happen if you told me your new lake :-) . Out of curiousity what was the biggest weight?

Sorry, I was challenging your word or anything, I was simply saying that I haven't been lucky enough to catch a slab like that in Alberta. I caught some pretty big perch in the summer at Pine Lake as a kid but more in the 12in range. Some day!

Devils Lake, North Dakota on the other hand...
