Don’t worry, they will be gone by morning and you’ll have to find them again

Oh Yha.
Same for, my long time hunting partner and I.
We are pretty good a finding Elk before the hunt, but as soon as we grad our bows,,, they disappear. Ha.
I guess this is why they call them Ghost of the Forests.
Good luck going forward, what a thrill getting onto them.

It's too bad I'm not hunting for elk sign or I would be a seasoned veteran. I'm still not convinced they dont have elaborate cave systems in my bowhunting spots. I can scout em, take pictures set waypoints the whole 9 yards but as soon as I grab my bow all I find is fresh chit.

If you're hunting over fresh elk droppings then they are there. How fresh? I like to think of is not still steaming then I'm in the wrong spot.

Excellent theory! I suffer from DES (Disappearing Elk Syndrome) as well. Now it all makes sense to me!

Thats better than seeing them sometimes. Persistence pays off. Happy hunting, remember they dont give you much time in the am or pm for an opportunity, pick where you want to be at prime time wisely.
