I have most of the capes I need for a few years and I have a supplier that I can get some half descent white capes and dye them myself for the other colors I may need. Hope this fashion BS comes to an end soon.

The only good thing I can see is that producers may end up with too much stock when this is all over and maybe we might get some hackle at a lower price.

Pretty soon they will be going to the fly shops, picking up a few flies, pinching the barbs and putting them in their hair. Hey - with all the flies that got stuck in my caps, scalp... maybe I have ben in style the whole time!

At least if that happens I could cash in on that one.

Would have been nice to see this coming, I could have invested in 100 or so capes a few years ago. You can't find an investment with that kind of return.

Have a friend who is a hairdresser. She charges $80 to weave in 6 hackle feathers... "but they're re-usable" I've seen more appearing on the shelves of decent quality in the $40 - $70 range
