Default Jiffy white lightening troubles!!!

Well, I've been trying to get my white lightening running. I bought it summer of 2010, and only used it only one trip ever, and drilled about 10 holes.....
Well, It ran for about 30 seconds the other morning and quit. After trying feverishly on back to back mornings, thought I flooded it, etc, (the kids want to go really bad), Finally I gave up and took it to a local shop. Turns out the key in the fly-wheel was sheared off, and rounded out. Pretty maddening for a guy with a brand new auger with about 20 minutes run time on the engine.
Well, $97.00 later, (parts and labour) I'm ready to get the kids onto the lake this week.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen with their auger before.
Pretty expensive fix .

I have the same auger (except its about 8yrs old) and have never had that problem. Mine has been really good to me overall other than basic wear and tear (gas cap, and the bolt that holds the auger to the power-head).

The only issue that I do have regularly is that it is a hard starter when its cold. The last couple of years Ive been storing it inside when its not being used otherwise its a bi**h to start when you get out to the lake.

Cool

I can suggest taking your machine to a two stroke shop and get it tuned and perhaps change the heat range of the spark plug.
l own an old jiffy 30, I drain the fuel every spring and then in november get her up and running its a ritual for me and never it misses a beat

I would of gotten ahold of Jiffy . I had a Jiffy Legend that had given me all sorts of issues , but sold it to my pops . As I already had a White Lightining , I dont like the new ones . They are not the quality the old ones are . Also do yourself a favor go buy the 2.00 fuel stabilizer oil mix , mix it 50:1 and your golden she will run when ever you want it to .

I got a Jiffy light last Christmas and easy started through whole winter. This winter, I had a problem of pumping oil while first starting. After fastened plastic fuel tube at connecting point, then pumped and started like last year.
