I am a trout fisherman but i have had fun many times in the spring throwing a fly to the big pike in the weeds, i would have to they are the most dominant fish in the lake

There seem to be some smaller ones that are caught easily enough. Trolling with spoons or casting into the weeds.
The best time to go would be early in the season when the weeds are close to the banks.
FYI this is a lake that has a ban on gas motors

Is it possible to fish from the shore in mid summer? Are the weeds too bad?
