Default Ulterra Mega TD

Is there any advantage to use a Mega TD on an Ulterra IPilot Link on a Helix G2N ?

I have hooked up the ethernet cable from then Ulterra on the 5 port ethernet hub
I think its all for IPilot only but not sure if there is a secondaryTD in the TM.

using a hi def TD on the back of the boat. I use a 999HDSI as well with the Hub.

Have a 920 TD for higher speed ACLive as well.

If I understand your question specifically - If you are asking if your G2 will support the MEGA TD off the Ulterra the answer is it won't. But there's no "disadvantage" to having everything networked anyways.

The newer 3GN units will support the output from the Ulterra so when you do upgrade it's easy to swap out head units and you are good (assuming the cables are the same).

And ........ who knows - maybe it will be availble as an update on your G2

That's Humminbird's way of making us upgrade and keep buying new head units every 2-3 years .......... ah yes ........... marketing technology to drive obsolescence ....

I guess all of them do it - so it's hard to blame them for forcing us to play thier game and spend our money ....

.... the rat race ...
