11-12" on the south end today. A truck drove on but I wouldn't. 3 of us managed 11 through the ice - biggest was 7lb-13oz.

I was at the north end and ice was about 15 inches thick. Had my side by side on it and no issues. I did see one ice hut submerged in the lake with only the skids showing. A local paper photographer came out to take a pic of us as they were told the ice conditions were poor. So like others stated the ice is getting thicker by the day but it won't be me driving on the lake just yet. PS the fishing was slow but had fun checking out some new Christmas gear.

Wayne, I thought I would add to your weather warning. When I looked it up and saw the "reducing visibility to near zero" I had pictures in my mind of being on the ice and losing track of shore landmarks. Would hate for someone to move in the wrong direction and onto some thin ice, or have an accident on the highway.

Environment Canada:

"A broad trough of low pressure has developed extending from southern BC through Southern Alberta into Southern Saskatchewan. Along this trough a narrow band of heavy snow is developing this morning extending from the Claresholm region through the Brooks region into the Medicine Hat region. 10 to 15 centimetres of snow are possible with this band of snow. In addition strong northwesterly winds with the falling snow will generate blowing snow reducing visibility to near zero in some areas. Conditions are expected to improve by this afternoon. "

I have personal experience with that last winter, doesnt take much blowing snow to get lost even close to shore. Right now I can see maybe half a mile out my window, wind hasnt died down much
