Default Live Target "Bait Ball"

Picked one up @ CT last week and figured I'd give 'er a crack today.

So I hit Gull this morning. I trolled from Wilson's to Meridian Beach in 12-14 FOW @ 1.5-2.5mph. Drug this around and had a great day of fishin'. The verdict is in... It Catches Fish!!!...lol.

Cheers.

Thanks for the test run.
Been curious as hell about the Baitball series.

All in I landed 11 pike, 4 walleye and lost 4 fish. One large enough to actually snap a hook off the rear treble!

Bought the jerkbait, square bill and deep diving crankbaits in various colors of the baitball and have had good success with them at Wabamun. Today was casting the square bill crank in 6 feet of water and did very well on pike.

Used the jerkbait trolling for walleyes at NWL and they worked there as well.

At $15 a pop they better!lol

No doubt! I bought the jerk bait as well. I have mine hooked up w/a homemade 50# flouro leader w/aluminum sleeves and 50# snap swivels. Can't afford to lose on of these...lol.

I just got back from buck lake... Most aggressive takes ever... I just cast mine and I also had a fish break one of the hooks off the last treble...amazing hard strikes ... Landed over ten walleye casting one from boat and it was way too weedy to cast effectively from the dock but that didn't stop 8 pike from smashing it... I'll b buying live target stocks for sure!

When I saw those, I thought there is no way it shouldn't work, they look awesome. Glad to hear they're working, I guess it's worth the $12 for a little fun.

Have not tried the bait ball version, but Live Target's perch pattern crank baits really work well and troll straight and true.

Great lures - but I ALSO broke a hook off one of them on an average pike.

My guess is the hooks on them suck ..... but they are easy to replace with good quality hooks anyways. just make sure they weigh the same (or close) so the action isn't disrupted.

I am really impressed with the Perch and the rainbow minnow as well! I have had to replace the hooks twice, and there is almost no paint left on it! I could only guess i have caught a couple hundred fish out of North Wab on it this year! Very impressed, and worth the money! Will have to try the bait ball!

Nice review. My only question is did the fish distinguish the different baits or did it just look like one minnow with a different pattern and they hammered it?

Now someone has to put those on a umbrella rig (with legal amount of hooks) and now you have a school of baitfish!

Lol, I caught a couple nice perch this summer on large lures like too. Guessing it was territorial strikes more then hunger.

You must be catching a few fish on this lure, I notice you already have a broken treble hook.

Yea I've replaced the treble after each trip and I'm using Mustad's! The strikes are very aggressive. If you look closely you can see that the lure itself is getting very hacked up.

Worth the $15 in my book!
