Default anyone fished grist lake this year

im going to grist lake lodge this week and i havent fished it for two years.
the camp operator said the other guests are catching lake trout up to
10 lbs and jacks 10 and over.

The camp operators always say that. It's not in their best interest to say this fishing is slow.

20 years ago that would have been rare . we did manage an 11 pound laker though. back then it was fly in only except in winter

about 9 years ago the fishing was bad, even in the winter. i have made several trips to that lake over the years and i only cought one 12 lb jack ever.
even with no fish i still enjoy the quad trails and i would rather sit in a boat
with no fish then be at work. the lodge is interesting with pics of fish and moose from the past. for $55.00 a nite (per man) it is a good holiday.

We got on a hole a few years back and caught a dozen 6-10lbers in about 60' with riggers. No pike that time though.

HB how was the fishing at grist? We are heading out the long weekend of aug. This is our 4th year runnuing we always had awesome pike fishing caught 4 or 5 16 plus pounders last year.
