Just lipped him. I think he stoll a fly from me a few moments before he/she took me for a ride around the lake on my float tube. 6 lb vanish tippet 6wt rod

40inches take note of the bite out of the anal fin!!

Beautiful rock lake, surprizingly calm eh!?

Ya I'm hooked on the fly rod now. But my spinning gear won't get dusty by any means. They both have there advantages and it's just another technique for me to use. There are allot more pics where those came from to go with the stories but work has not been allowing me any me time since that trip so I may not get them up. Hope you enjoy tight lines.

Atta boy FP. Aren't 'firsts' the best? I found it funny how once you land your first few on the fly, something just changes. Hard to describe but you guys understand what I mean. It's sortta like a 'eureka' moment. Congrats on a great trip and thanks for sharing.

Default Rock Lake, one of my all time favorites

Nice Photos of a very successful trip. Rock Lake can be a very difficult lake to fish sometimes. I've been going there since 1987, great lake, beautiful views and usually when I go I have great luck, but you have to know the secrets. My daughter's first Northern ever was caught at Rock Lake this summer. (she was seven years old). It was just over 5 lbs.

awesome FP

reminds me of my first trunk road trip and the excitement of catching my first brown and cuttie on that trip. after that, the FTR trip became a tradition for a lot a years. havnt been out that way for a while. i blame that on those big hogs from the stillwaters and big rivers.

good to see someone else having a great year. i know '09 has been awesome for me so far.
