Default South Buck Lake Report

Two of us fished for 3.5 hours (started at 9:30). Used the boat launch across from the rodeo grounds. It is very weedy for quite a ways out. Ended up having to clear the motor. Not sure how much longer this launch site will be usable die to the heavy weeds.

The lake has a nice algae bloom starting with one spot of heavy blue-green that we encountered.

We caught 25 walleye and 1 pike -- 7 in the slot size (45 to 50) with the largest at 47. Smallest fish was 40.

The weeds have grown like crazy in the last couple days. The lake is turning into pea soup. With a little blue icing in spots. Yuk.

Welcome to Alberta!

I fish the central Ab lakes in May/June and then in July/August I leave the sloughs and tend to head north or into the west country for this exact reason.

I was hopping that the cooler rainy days we have been having they would not be green yet.

Thanks for posting that up date.
