Default Best luck for Grayling- lucky lures??

Taking the kids out to a River tomorrow and thought we’d try our luck with grayling. Any members willing to share what works for them? Spoons?, Spinners?, Harpoons?........lol

Spinners - Used to slay them one after another with this ..........

https://www.mepps.com/information/ag...04#B0MT%20S-BK

The small size (of course) and silver blade and black feathers

light weight braid and even this light lure will cast out there a ways

I'd imagine any small spinner with the right colors for the light conditions and water clarity would work.

Spinners are great. But honestly most lures work, they’re easy to catch.
But... whatever you use, I’d recommend single barbless hooks. Grayling are pretty weak and die easily, and they aren’t doing so well in Alberta right now.

A float and a fly works good but grayling are pretty aggressive so most trout gear works well. Spinners, spoons and kastmasters small to medium size

I’ve had the best luck with small, dark spinners (usually something with a lot of black on it). Sometimes I switch to a different lighter colour if they don’t seem to want to take the darker ones but I always start with something black.

I’ve had the best luck on a silver coloured 1/16oz panther martin. The one with orange and black around the hook and red on the blade has been consistently good for me over the years.

Bingo bug by Lucky Bug works well, as does the smallest Len Thompson Platinum spoon in half silver/half blue.

If I had to pick one hook it would be a 1/16-1/8 ounce red head jig with a 1" white curly tail jig.

I usually set my wife up with a small gold Mepps Aglia for grayling. Silver works well too. I clip off the treble hook and install a Gamakatzu Siwash single hook and pinch the barb. Works great and makes for quick releases.

Thanks guys for the tips but work prevailed and fishing didn’t happen! It was an impromptu river boat excursion with friends but issues at work trumped the grayling party. Hopefully we’ll try again soon. Tight lines everyone
