Default Summer Pike Fishing

I was just wondering if you guys had any techniques you wanted to share with me about fishing for pike on hot days like this. I am going to be fishing in an area with a lot of weeds. I catch and release all the pike.

I like using a jig if there are lots of weeds that way I can pull through if I get hung up in some.

If you are in a boat and can find the edge of the weeds spoons and rapalas work good but make sure you don't hit weeds or you will risk losing your lure depending on the type of weeds.

One thing I have noticed with pike is that the time of day or temperature doesn't really seem to matter much, I have actually had some of my best luck in the middle of the day almost like they come up to bask in the suns warmth.

I like fishing topwater plugs reeling slow with the odd quick tug in the shallows on hot days.
