Sitting higher up = better casting distance over a weedy shoreline. (eg. Chestermere) Great idea!

If I was there and saw them using 2 rods I would throw them and their gear in the water.

Wouldn't even need to throw them, just shake the heck out of the poles until they fell out.

This is before I put up some walls and trimed some of the 2x4,s.
This is what I've got out of it so far.

I wish this was my stand, some guys did a pile of work to build this where I found it.

This is more my style. I can usually last around 4 hours in it when the temp. dips to -20 or cooler. The height advantage kicks but on the ground blinds.

This my next option when I get tired of freezing or burning gas

I bought a tree stand a nice climbing one. have yet to use the dang thing in 4 plus years.

The thought of it always has me wanting to hunt from one but most areas I hunt the fields are flat and the tree stand offers me no advantage. I also like to walk.

Bow season for elk this year the stand might get some use though!!!
