Default Beaver

How's it going, everyone?!

I found this Beaver's stub while taking a walk with the wife by the river, and it sat in my garage for way over a year now, before I finally got my hands on it.
I decided to turn something new this time, what do you guys think?

Hope you enjoy the video!
Thank you for watching!

I know this isn't hardwood, can anyone help me identify this species of wood?

Some kind of poplar, looks surprisingly well dried with no splits or insect damage.

I don't know yet, maybe for ground coffee when I go outdoors, sugar or salt, that kinda option.

That's what I was thinking it would be perfect to hold salt or pepper holder by the stove for when you are cooking, with style and a unique talking piece.

Technique has greatly improved. Parting tool and roughing gouge still look dull to me though.
