3 Cots in Alaknak 10x10?
Hey all,
I bought a 10x10 Alaknak last year, I primarily hunt solo so this was a good size for me, sometimes my brother comes up so I was confident with 2 cots in there + wood stove.
But now my father might come up as well next November, so I would like to know if you guys think 3 cots can fit in there. I know it will be a tight fit but I would like some feedback, it would mean a lot to me to spend a few nights in the bush with my dad and brother so I really want this to happen.
As a very last resort I can take out the wood stove and heat with Diesel heater only, but where's the fun in that!
TIA

If the Cots are usual Army Surplus you are going to suffer in a 10 x 10 tent.
See if you can find a 12 x 14 wall tent. Depending on if you cook in your tent, it still is not alot of room in the wall tent with three cots, but it can be done.

Perhaps, set it up and see how the best configuration works. It may be OK for sleeping, but you might want to take the cots down during the day. I have a 12x14 wall tent comfy for two tight with three.

Put masking tape down on your driveway in a 10'x10' square and put 3 cots and the stove in it. I really don't think it would fit in my 12x12' so imo you would need a bigger tent.

Look at Disc-o-bed or bunk. Hands down, most comfortable cot I’ve ever used, can stack so your footprint is the same. Sleep 3 guys in the winter with a weeks gear, wood, etc in the tent with lots of space (mind you a 10x12). For fall hunting you should have lots of room though. Cheaper than a new tent too. If you’re in the Edmonton area, and want to check some out, let me know. I ordered mine from Costco years ago, I don’t know if anybody carries them but they’re available online.

thanks for all the feedback guys, I forgot to mention that getting another tent is not an option, i will try the driveway mock up and see what it looks like.

yep you guys have helped me solve this puzzle, Disc-O-bed it is! Its gonna be great for camping with the kids to!! Wow I am sooo pumped now, that was the only limiting factor for all 3 of us camping out in November! I can even turn the cots into a lounge chair, that will be perfect for morning coffee and breakfast!

Looks great!
Now, when you get it all set up, you'll need to show us how it looks inside the tent.
