what ever size you buy get 5' side walls, that gives you alot more usable space.

Alliance Mfg. In Edmonton.
Justin just built my 14x16. Excellent workmanship, design, and attention to detail. Price was phenomenal too.

wall tent
What ever size you are thinking about go bigger you won't regret it.
Bought ours through Canvas Wall Tents. Great service has lasted through all types of weather with no issues.
I had a 12X14 for years then went with the 14X16X5. Perfect for 2 and all their equipment.

Same. I have a 12x14 with a 5' porch. Very well suited for two or three people.

Deluxe
We've had a 14x16 with 8 foot porch for years now. Full frame too.
Full zippered door on porch, and front and back of the main tent.
It's been great, but we've learned over time how important it is to treat it well. Especially drying it out once it gets home. Quite the task with a tent this big, but we've figured out a system in a garage. Had a few rips, which we get repaired professionally immediately.
Often debate a diesel heater vs woodstove, but yet to pull the trigger on that.

Canvas tent shop.
I have the Selkirk spike tent and it sets up in half the time of a traditional wall tent with a frame.
The sewn in waterproof floor is also very nice.

I've been looking for an old style tent that your erect with a ridge pole.
I don't want to pack aluminum poles on a horse. Don't need a floor.
Is somebody making this style? Dave Manzer who used to pack into Willmore built some pretty good lightweight tents. He used a heavy plastic.

Deluxe tents can work with or without a frame.

Deluxe Wall Tents, a site sponsor gets my vote. I have 2 of theirs. Its nice to have a porch
Depends on number of people staying in the camp.
10x15 or 12x14 maybe for size for 2-3 guys. For 4-5 guys go 14x16. We have 8-9 guys in our hunting camp group and we have a 16x20 with an eight foot porch.

If you have NEVER set up a wall tent, please do get an internal frame kit.
We spent many trips figuring out a system to put up a wall tent with poles. You can easily waste a few hours gathering poles on site, and you will struggle getting the tent up with a pole system with just 2 people. The bigger the tent, the harder it is to make poles work.
I can set up a 12 x 14 with 5 foot walls by myself with the internal frame kit. You will never do that with bush poles.
Next, how many people do you expect, are you cooking in the tent, and is everyone on cots?
With tables in the tent for cooking, expect 3 cots at most.
A Wood Stove and firewood for the stove inside the tent in rainy weather takes up alot of room.
I like a 12' x 14' but with a bigger group a bigger tent is the answer, but there is a tradeoff on ease of use.

I always thought I would want a front porch on my tent until my friend brought one of those 13x13 Costco pop-up gazebos for the front of his. Way lighter, larger, and more useful.
Gives nice shade when it's hot, and we even move the fire pit under it if it starts to rain.
In the off season I use it in the backyard and take it for plinking under, during the summer.
Big enough for 6 people to sit under easily.

Totally agree - done it both ways for many years - internal frame is so easy and no messing around.

Hey there I havnt been on here in long time but will ring in with my 2 cents.
Deluxe wall Tents is what we use. Sizes vary based on use. That company in my experience is more than helpful in determining what will work for you. Reach out to them and chat.
I opted for a larger size than anticipated, as I like the space and even bring my atv in the back door when things get chilly. Don't forget room for table and chairs. Enjoy the room.
The internal frame, stove, porch and side wall stove pipe hole should be options to consider. I can set up a 14x16 with porch myself (a ladder helps). Doesn't take long and packs up great every time in the large bags provided.

Not difficult, you need two tripods of any trees for the ridge pole to rest on.Then cut your side support poles at 5ft or whatever your walls are.Hammer a nail in the top of the poles, put nail through tent side wall grommets.Stake down with guy ropes and your done.Did this for years in my backcountry elk camp.Stashed the poles in the bush for next use.

Even easier is a good ratchet strap between 2 trees for your ridge pole. Works like a charm.
Walls the same as you say
