Default Vibra-tite VC-3 Thread mate

Does anyone know where I can buy this in Canada, they won't ship from the US. This is recommended(by Speciality Archery) for putting on apertures that go in Speciality peeps, I have already lost two. It is not a glue but is put on the thread then let sit for at least 30 minutes before assembly. It doesn't get real hard but prevents vibration from making it come loose. If you know where it is sold please let me know. Thanks Roscoe

What manufacture sting/cables do you have ?
String sets are far more important than peep set glue advertising.

Roscoe are just having fun with us ?

Rosco is just having fun,
Heck going to Specialty Archery around here is like going to
Walmart and asking about spline.
Spline ? Spline. We don't need no stinking spline.

Didn't mean no harm just thought it was too funny to explaine.

Until you get some maybe try a little string wax on the threads of your aperature, might just do the trick. I know it works wonders on the threads of field points to keep them from vibrating loose. Loc-tite also makes a thread locker for small fasteners. It's the purple stuff. Works pretty good on scope mounts and small stuff like that, and is easily removable. That might work too.

Use the Loctite® Threadlocker Blue 242® on any and all bolts and screws on a bow...Bow manufacturers use this stuff on screws and bolts that see a lot of vibration and action such as cam Mod screws and roller guards

Use also on sights, rest, quiver etc all accessories... will never come loose until you are ready for it..

http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/t_l...r-Blue-242.htm

* Note do not use on main limb bolts
* CAUTION Never use the RED Loctite...unless you plan to never remove again

We use the Blue on all Adjustable cam and Mod bolts/screws which are known for loosening up with regular shooting...

On my personal bow every bolt or screw [other than main limb bolt and bolts such as sight adjustment] has the Blue coated

I use the blue loctite on my sight and the blade screws on the old style ramcats. Works like a charm.

Your 3 replies were really helpful, Specialty archery is a company in the US that manufactures these peeps with interchangeable apertures. I hope you have a question one day and you get responses like the ones you gave me.

That specifically says that the blue thread locker is designed for 1/4" to 3/4" fasteners. The purple I was referring to is designed for machine screws the size most commonly found on archery gear. It is always best to match the manufacturers design for a product like this. But use what you want.

Yup...Never had an issue with Blue holding rock solid on any size screw or bolt on a bow...or for removal...not once

Found the Purple very low strentgh...doesnt hold as well

Default Lock-tite

I have blue and purple in the house at all times and probably use more purple than blue, just depends on the application. Thanks for the replies, at least most of them. Cheers

From Retailer

"Vibra-Tite VC-3 is a different kind of thread locker/sealer. Most thread lockers are good for one use. As soon as the screw is turned, the thread locker is broken and must be reapplied. Screws assembled with VC-3 can be disassembled and reassembled up to five times without reapplying. This means you can adjust pivot screws without worrying about the screw coming loose later."
