Default Moose activity in 248

Nice frost this morning so went out early. Heard my first bull moose of the season grunting at 8:00AM. Got em!! Thanks to Lefty-Canuck and his Dad for all the help dealing with the critter. I think hubby planned to be out of town on purpose??

My pleasure! Would this be your first P&Y animal? Let me know if you want me to post a pic of the beast.

I think anyone would be happy to shoot that moose with a rifle let alone a bow!

Yup - that was the perfect calling morning. I wish I didn't have to drive kids to school and then work .... someday.

I heard LC can really gut a moose fast.

Hey lefty, post your number. I heard you run a dial-a-gutter service.

I just have to feel like part of the hunt....if I didn't call it in or shoot it I might as well get my hands dirty!

I have pics but I don't like to post without the hunters permission, so if Arrow Dog wants a pic or two posted I will

Thanks, everybody! Lefty thinks it's a Pope & Young prospect but we'll have to see in a couple of months what the actual measurement is. He's going to post pics for me on this thread. He takes great pictures. And no, Lefty, this won't be my first Pope & Young animal ( fingers crossed that this will be my second!). I got a really nice whitetail buck 151 6/8 a few years ago.

Congrats again on a great moose! Whether it makes P&Y or not ArrowDog proves that the ladies at 29+ can get it done with the bow too!

Congratulations on a magnificent bull. Good on lefty for helping out. Lot of hard work after you harvest a moose.
