So where does that put them in the standings? How far out of a playoff spot at this point?

It is not just the points but the fact there are 5 teams between them and tying for the final wild card spot. That makes for a tough go.

Oil have about as much of a chance this season as the NDP and Trudeau getting second terms.
they will flirt with the idea, it may seem almost possible, and in the end they will trip at the finish line and will be on the outside looking in.

Expect a big trade before the end of March, but they will still come up short.

7 points behind Calgary. With a lot of hockey to play. If you’d like to know where Calgary sits, google “NHL standings”.

Edmonton needs to to win 38 of the remaining games to have a chance?

After tonight sacrifices should be considered?

You just have to suck it up and take one for the team, I keep telling you! It's good luck. Help the Oilers get out of the hole, by volunteering to take a digit.

It's a fact.

We’ll take it. Clawed there way back to a tie. Some luck in OT with a couple posts, and a nice finish by Nuge.

Edmonton D need play smarter. Throwing the puck right to opposition in front of there net??
I have faith in this team. Comparative to LA kings 2011-12 season. Sutter comes in at Xmas. Takes L.A. to Cup win.

“The Kings started the regular season at 13–12–4 before firing head coach Terry Murray on December 12, 2011. John Stevens served as interim coach before the team hired Darryl Sutter on December 20. Under Sutter, the Kings finished the season at 95 points. The Kings lost their final two regular season games to fall from first place in the Pacific Division (and the #3 seed in the West) to third place in the division and eighth in the conference. Kings won only 40 out 82 games, and with 95 points became first losing record team to finish the season with more than 90 points.

The Kings then went on to become the second team to eliminate the first, second and thirds seeds from the playoffs in the same postseason (and the first team to do so in that order), after the 2003–04 Calgary Flames, also coached by Darryl Sutter,[6] eliminating the Vancouver Canucks in five games, the St. Louis Blues in four games, and the Phoenix Coyotes in five games. In addition, the Kings went a perfect 8–0 on the road in these playoff games and the first team to go undefeated while en route to the Final”. Wikipedia.

Actually the best pass of the game last night was from Maroon right into the slot to the Coyote player. Tape to tape, a thing of beauty

An interesting read, mentions McDavid a few times.

Seems the fastest 30 years ago are about the same as the fastest today, but the average has increased.

So close again, team played a good game, and then the coach rolls fourth line in a tie game with a minute left. Where is that axe?

Russell had a beauty pair of goals, anyway....

I was wondering how they scored two goals in the last 66 seconds.
