Went there today. A few small items are 50% off. No major movement on any other prices.

They show discounts but they've raised their prices each week. Remington 783 started at 489$ now is up to 789$ with 10% off..
Ammo with the discount was 8$ more than CT.

disgusting, isn't it? Yet people see the discount and run up those credit cards in a panic

I just bought some plastic 25round shotshell cases for my 577/450 rounds that had no place to go. Looked around the store but nothing caught my eye as a good deal. But I don't really need anything.

Not true for all items. I’ve been watching a number of different things and know their prices at all other locations. They haven’t increased in price, despite the discount increasing.

I can't see WSS with as poor a margin as you stated above. That would not be wholesale price direct from warehouse. It would have middlemen factored in. Not sure why that would be unless brand named and brokered. Most stores sell under their own label. Dicker on those prices should work better.

And you got that jacket far below cost if so...
Clothing markup is often around 50-100% which is why you rarely see any deals over 50% off even when discontinued or going out of business. Maybe the very odd thing higher then that but I guarantee you it isn't the norm.
Anyone who thinks most retail is marked up 2-3 times is crazy. Most big companies run at fairly low mark up these days and lots of items they even sell at cost or below cost as what is called a loss leader. Grocery stores do this with milk, eggs, bbq chickens, turkeys at thanksgiving etc as an example. It gets customers in the store that then spend their money on the other regularly marked up goods.
That is why small stores/businesses can't compete anymore and are hard to find/regularly going out of business. They don't have the customer base or financial backing to run at such low margins. If retail markup was 2-3 times it would be easy to make money in retail...

Sorry Rav have to disagree. I worked for a distributor for 6 years selling bike sled Atv parts accessories and clothing. A $600 belstaff jacket cost us under $200. Well under. Our other main line is very well known, a $349 jacket cost under $100 landed. Huge markup in clothing, especially when you look at where it is made. The best one was a $149 jacket, very nice unit, cost $40.
