I remember eating muskrat at home and in the local dinners. we never associated it with Lent, but just a great meal and social gathering.Local pubs also had frog leg dinners, perch, smelt and walleye.

Didn't know not eating meat of Friday was still a thing, thought the RCs got rid of that rule a long tome ago. Even if it was still the deal, wouldn't be eating Muskrat as a bypass for it. If'n I am going to be SINNING it is going to be a Ribeye.
I cut out the middle man a while ago. I decided that once there were more man made rules than God rules, Id step away.....I guess you could say I still visit dad, but I bypass the nursing home.....
I’ve always wanted to try muskrat. When I was a kid I’m shot lots of them and made some money to buy more Bullets but I never got around to trying some.
Now I don’t have a trappers license anymore and I still haven’t eaten muskrat.
