Didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch, I was simply stating when she gets off work we will be going together she needs a new reel and she will be getting one, relax or get a life, you choose

Shouldn't say "the babysitter" could be taken wrong by someone

He said woman. (One) not women (plural)! He didn't imply he would be dragging a whole harem behind him…...

Guys, ask your wives what they think of being referred to in a derogatory way!! Or are they not allowed to have a name or voice in your house?!

I just asked her - she said 'meh - whatever'.

Of course, much like the other gentleman on this thread, there is no ill will behind those words. Perhaps you're a little sensitive about something that is quite frankly, none of your business.

So - where's the Expo and how long does it run?

Cheers

Robert Service

The Low-Down White
This is the pay-day up at the mines, when the bearded brutes come down;
There's money to burn in the streets to-night,
so I've sent my klooch to town,
With a haggard face and a ribband of red entwined in her hair of brown.

And I know at the dawn she'll come reeling home
with the bottles, one, two, three —
One for herself, to drown her shame, and two big bottles for me,
To make me forget the thing I am and the man I used to be.

To make me forget the brand of the dog, as I crouch in this hideous place;
To make me forget once I kindled the light of love in a lady's face,
Where even the squalid Siwash now holds me a black disgrace.

Oh, I have guarded my secret well! And who would dream as I speak
In a tribal tongue like a rogue unhung, 'mid the ranch-house filth and reek,
I could roll to bed with a Latin phrase and rise with a verse of Greek?

Yet I was a senior prizeman once, and the pride of a college eight;
Called to the bar — my friends were true!
but they could not keep me straight;
Then came the divorce, and I went abroad and "died" on the River Plate.

But I'm not dead yet; though with half a lung there isn't time to spare,
And I hope that the year will see me out, and, thank God, no one will care —
Save maybe the little slim Siwash girl with the rose of shame in her hair.

She will come with the dawn, and the dawn is near; I can see its evil glow,
Like a corpse-light seen through a frosty pane in a night of want and woe;
And yonder she comes by the bleak bull-pines,
swift staggering through the snow.

If I'm speaking to people who know my fiancé then of course I use her name, if you think me calling her my woman is derogatory then may I suggest some therapy. Furthermore, I can assure you she is treated very well by me and just for the record I showed her this post and asked what she thought and she took no offence to it whatsoever. In fact she thought your comments were just plain idiotic, as do I.

It's all good, We went to the show , had a lot of fun, picked up some tying material, some flies and a couple books, only had to hold her purse once so she could try on some clothes......which in itself is a victory for me

no offense but you're clearly insane. women call their husbands and boyfriends "my man" all the time. Its going the other way here. deal with it.

If you get offended so easily, perhaps the internet is not the place for you...

I made it for a while. Fish Tales had their rack of sale rods there, I ended up with a new Grey's GRXi 3wt...

Think I might have to pick myself up one of those Echo Glass rods sometime!

Iron Bow had a couple cases of reels, Hatch was on the right, can anyone remember what the other brand was? cool little units for a nice price. I wanted to see if I could find info on them but I can't remember the name...

Just to get this thread back on track... so, how is the show this year? Worth going to? I have only been to it once a number of years ago, I guess it didn't do much for me as I've never been back. It seems a lot bigger now than it was back then though. What's it cost to get in this year?

Does not bother her at all and trust me she would not hesitate to tell me if it did .

If my wife was that up tight she would not have been around long enough to become my wife

There was a presentation going on so I didn't cast it. They've got one set up for demo though if you ask. I did wiggle it around and it's definitely got a different feel to it. I think I liked the wiggle of the Echo better than the wiggle of the Redington.

I've got a serious hankering to go cast one now.... And I know Lamiglas has a fiberglass blank I could build on....

Went; picked up some tying materials and 60 dries at 50¢ apiece! Can't beat that price.
