My 2011 Whitetail buck
My goal this year was to get my first big game animal with my bow. I spent many days in stand and in the blind, passed a few spikers and blew an opportunity on a decent 8 point. Spent 6 hours in the stand yesterday before the snow storm came and all I saw was squirrels! Cold and snowing when I got up today so I took the tikka and went hiking. I crossed over an area with lots of doe tracks and on the way back to the truck this buck was nose to the ground where the does had been. I grunted at him and he never even looked at me, I was sixty yards from him when he gave me a broadside shot. Funny thing was he turned and ran right towards the truck...perfect!
My best whitetail buck to date, guess the bow kill can wait til next year.
