Default British Columbia A year in review (pic heavy)

So we had quite a first full year of operating in BC of ups and downs and some pretty wild adventures at times. We started off with spring bear and put a few beauties on the ground. A couple with hounds and a couple spot and stalk. We missed out on a great grizzly that we had dead to rights at 200 yards but sometimes it just doesn't play out.

The grizzly that got away on trail camera a week later.

After that it was up north hauling gear and cutting trails for the summer. Gutting the lodge and spike camps and replacing worn out equipment from years gone by. Lots of work and lots of fun. Lost a quad in a river and had a couple angry grizzly make a mess of a camp. Cleared an old runway and gave the chainsaws a good workout.

My favourite valley on the drive up north

Visiter in the back yard of the lodge

Boys taking a break

Trail crew in the high country

High country lake at one of the spike camps

Flying quads into the high country

Camp the Grizzlies decided to destroy

Fall season was upon us and like everything we had some ups and downs. We put some big Moose on the ground, had a close call on a huge elk, killed some wolves and a couple black bears as well. Had a couple misses, a couple guys passed on some smaller Bulls and a not so small bull The grizzly seemed to elude those with tags and stand still for those that didn't, but with them this is often the case.

Even got to do a family hunt for November moose once we got back to Alberta. Grandpa put one down just a week before his 90th birthday and a good friend's wife killed her first bull. The kids had a blast.

Hope you all enjoy the pictures. Looking forward to another great year in 2017.

Thanks for posting. Does Tintina Air fly the Beaver on wheels only or do they put it on floats for part of the season?

They use this one on wheels or ski's in the winter, but they do have another one on floats. I had to get them to come out of Whitehorse to move 3 loads of gear up into the high country for me.
Blacksheep out of Watson does all my other flying for me.

There's some elk around. Not a ton but we did get on a big 6 by 6 a few times, and the boys spotted a 350 class 7 by 7 later in the season.

Congratulations on your first full season in BC. Looks like beautiful country with lots of game. Also looks like a hell of a lot of work, and I imagine it doesn't help when bears demolish your cabins. lol
There were a lot of happy looking people in your pics, and I know how wet it was this year all over Northern BC and AB, but it looked like you still had a lot of good hunting days.
What is the name of your Outfit?
