Default Suckerbelly/meat

Does anyone keep any around or have it frozen to use as bait?

Probably can’t “sell” you any but can be nice and give you some. I’m in Lloydminster I have a surplus , ( it sells for $5/ two fillets in flin flon )

Here's a thought...

Sushi... Take a drive to Ashland reservoir by Warburg. You'll have to walk in a hundred yards or so from the gate to the ice.
If the ice is good, which it should be, put some worms or maybe a corn kernel on a small hook on the bottom and you should catch a few small suckers pretty easily. You don't have to go very far out. The suckers feed pretty close to shore.

I just read the Alberta angling regulations, slightly confused.

Am I allowed to bring a dead baitfish from one body of water to another

There's a sucker born every minute.
So why are we always short pike bait when ice fishing season rolls around?

Yes, just never live baitfish.

If you want to wait till you’re headed that way in March , you’ll drive right by Lloyd . Give me heads up and I’ll meet you. Lots of places in flin flon area sell it , but I don’t have a supplier name.
